About Us

Our Mission

Quality Service for Quality Life

At West Texas Centers, our mission is to provide quality services that empower individuals, strengthen families, and improve lives. We are committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of the individuals and communities we serve with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Our Vision:
To create a superior system of care that meets the unique needs of every individual through quality services, meaningful partnerships, integrity, mutual respect, and compassion.

A Message of Encouragement:
“Remind yourself regularly that you are better than you think you are. Successful people are not superhuman. Success does not require a super intellect. Nor is there anything mystical about success. And success isn’t based on luck. Successful people are just ordinary folks who have developed belief in themselves and what they do. Never—yes, never—sell yourself short.”

— David J. Schwartz

Local Planning

As part of West Texas Centers MH/IDD’s Local Planning process, we create two local planning documents. CLSP Consolidated Local Service Plan and the LPND Local Provider Network Development Plan

Planning Together for Better Services

West Texas Centers (WTC) is committed to providing quality mental health and intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) services that respond to the needs of the communities we serve.
Our local planning process helps identify community needs, establish priorities, strengthen partnerships, and guide the development and delivery of services throughout our service area.
As the Local Mental Health Authority (LMHA) and Local Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority (LIDDA), West Texas Centers develops planning documents that support these efforts:

Consolidated Local Service Plan (CLSP)

The Consolidated Local Service Plan (CLSP) outlines local service needs, priorities, and planning activities for West Texas Centers in its roles as the LMHA and LIDDA.
Community involvement is an important part of this process. WTC works with individuals receiving services, family members, community stakeholders, and other partners to gather input and identify opportunities to improve services. Feedback helps inform local planning priorities and service development.

Local Provider Network Development Plan (LPND)

The Local Provider Network Development Plan (LPND) describes West Texas Centers’ approach to developing and maintaining its provider network.
The plan considers local needs and priorities while supporting access to qualified service providers and promoting choice for the individuals and families we serve.

Planning and Network Advisory Committee (PNAC)

PNAC

The Planning and Network Advisory Committee (PNAC) plays an important role in helping West Texas Centers (WTC) ensure that services are responsive to the needs of the individuals, families, and communities we serve.
Through its local Board, West Texas Centers appoints, guides, and supports the PNAC. Committee membership includes consumers, family members, community representatives, and liaisons from other departments and programs served by WTC. Some members also serve on their respective Program Committees, bringing forward local concerns, feedback, and recommendations that may have broader implications for the organization.
The PNAC allows individuals and families to share their perspectives, offer input, and contribute to ongoing efforts to improve services and address community needs across West Texas.
